National House of Chiefs moves from headquarters in Kumasi to Tamale for Standing Committee meeting

The National House of Chiefs will from 19-22nd June hold its standing committee and general house meeting at the Northern regional house of chiefs.

The decision to hold the meeting, the house said, was to honor the overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Na Abukari Mahama II and to further consolidate peace in Dagbon.

This is contained in a statement from the Northern regional house of chiefs signed by Senior Research Officer, Mr Humphrey Kuupie and copied to Zaa News.

According to the statement, this is the first time such a meeting is going to be held outside Kumasi where the headquarters of the national houses of chiefs is.

The house current President Togbe Afede would lead the house to Tamale.

About 50 paramount chief and invited Queen Mothers from all over Ghana and 150 important guests are expected to attend to the meeting, the statement added.
