Breaking News; Tamale Dakpema is dead

 

Reporting reaching Zaa news indicates that, the Tamale Dakpema, Alhassan Mohammed Dawuni has died.

The Chief of commerce who supervised activities at the Tamale market reportedly died on Saturday 14th July, 2018 at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

Sources close to the Dakpema  palace who confirmed the sad incident said he passed on at about 4:30 pm at the age of 76.

The late Naa Alhassan Mohammed Dawuni was a staunch Muslim and it is not clear how tradition will play alongside his Islamic beliefs before he is buried.

Per his title, there will be no market activities at the Tamale central market on Sunday, a source at the palace said.

The late Tamale Dakpema was a development oriented traditional ruler in many areas, especially in education.

He set up the Dakpema educational fund to support brilliant but needy children within the Tamale metropolis.

He was also a traditional ruler who showed much concern about the activities of health workers at the Tamale Teaching Hospital and was quick to act anytime residents reported to him about negligence at the facility.
