Northern region host 34th National Farmers’ Day

Famers across the country will on 29th November converge at the Alhaji Aliu Mahama sports stadium for the 34th National farmer’s day celebration. The celebration will witness an exhibition of different agricultural products.

Farmers and exhibitors outside the northern region will arrive in Tamale on 29th November and set up their exhibition stands.

On 30th November, the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will officially open the agricultural fair and regional focus days, where the northern and Western regions are expected to start.

Each region is expected to showcase its agricultural potential at the fair.
This will run to 7th December, where the President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo will be in Tamale for the grand Durbar and Awards ceremony.

Briefing the media at the Northern Regional Co-ordinating Council Chief Director and a member of the local organizing committee, Alhaji Issahaku Alhassan said the event is also for every region to showcase what they have to the entire country and the world at large.

He said the finance committee, as part of fundraising, intends to organize a concert, which will feature some of the local artists in the region to support the event and to as well generate the momentum desired for the celebration.
