Rescue Team Recovers Bodies of Two Missing School Pupils After 24hrs

A search team, comprising the military, police, Ghana National Fire Service and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) found and recovered the bodies of two school pupils who were reported missing after Tuesday’s heavy downpour.

One of the deceased students, identified as 12-year old Amran Sulemana, a pupil of the Tishegu Methodist primary school was found dead in the drains at Fuo in the Tamale North constituency. According to the Assemblyman for Tishegu, Mr. Sulemana had gone out to play football when he was swept away by rushing waters.

The body of the second pupil who was not identified was pulled from a stream by the rescue team late Wednesday. The two have since been buried.
