Details are still murky, but according to police authorities, a 30 year old “yellow yellow” driver, Mr. Adongo Baba, suspected of beating his wife to death, has been admitted to the Tamale Teaching Hospital in critical condition after his manhood was chopped off, allegedly by his wife, with a kitchen knife at Jaaberi Kukuo in the Savelugu Municipality.

According to Mr. Baba’s brother who spoke to Zaa news, Mr. Baba’s wife, Mrs. Mavis, age 26, came from Bolga on the day of the incident and complained that she was sick. The husband subsequently gave her money to either go to hospital or a pharmacy for treatment. Instead, she went and bought a kitchen knife.

Sensing something was wrong after noticing Baba’s tricycle (Yellow Yellow) parked in front of his house, he knocked on his brother’s door to ask why he’s home. But there was no response. After repeated knocks on the door and not getting no answer from either of the couple, he peeped through the window saw the two lying in a pool of blood.

Together with other neighbours, he broke into the room and rushed them to the Jaaberi Kukuo clinic where Mavis was pronounced dead and Baba given first aid and referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

A nurse at the Jaaberi Kukuo clinic who spoke to Zaa news said, Mr. Baba’s manhood was not found when he was brought to the clinic. She said a later search in his room saw the manhood lying in a corner.

It is unclear what caused their disagreement. It is not also confirmed whether Mr. Baba used any offensive weapon to murder his wife. The wife’s remains have been conveyed by Police to the Savelugu hospital morgue to await investigations and autopsy.
