“Tell your fans to check their attitude at the door or we will crack the whip -Tamale mayor warns rising musicians

The Tamale Metropolitan Assembly has issued a stern warning to two popular young talented artistes to get their fans to discard their rowdy behavior or or face its wrath.

The two, the assembly said  will be  banned from using any public property for shows, especially the Tamale Sports Stadium if organizers fail to comply with the assembly’s directives.

One of the artiste, Mr. Ahmed Mujahid Bello known showbiz as Fancy Gadam enjoys enormous support in the region. His rating is a staggering 100 percent, while his arch rival, Mr. Sherif Abdul Majeed also known in showbiz as Maccasio fans has a not so envious rating of 69 percent.

The assembly’s warning came on the heels of complaints lodged by residents about the volume of noise generated by Maccasio’s fans which went on for good three days ahead of the launch of his new album, ‘Ninsala.” Angry residents questioned the whereabouts of city authorities.

Gadam and Maccasio have been bitter rivals and have engaged in nasty exchanges culminating with their fans exchanging insults on social and traditional media as to who of the two artistes is the “super-star.”

City authorities monitored the two for sometime now and their fans utterances according to the assembly threatens peace and security.

Some lambasted authorities for allowing such activities to take place.

But the Metropolitan Chief Executive of Tamale, Mr .Iddrisu Musah Superior who doubles as chairman of the metro security committee said the assembly under his leadership will crack the whip to instill discipline in the metropolis.

His was informed by about the upcoming another entertainment event at the Tamale sports stadium by Fancy Gadam.

Speaking to Zaa Drive Time Host, Musah Abdul Halid on some disturbing development in Tamale, Mr. Superior said people must adhere to the rules and regulations governing the country and anyone who refused to abide by it will not be spared.

He noted with concern the invasion of the streets of the metropolis over the weekend by a local artiste and his fans with impunity, virtually taking over major road intersections in the name of drawing attention to the launch of a musical album.

According to Mr Superior, the Metropolitan Assembly through the Security Committee will deal decisively with any person or group of persons who will arrogate to themselves the unwarranted right to disturb the public peace.

The Metropolis, he says, is governed by laws and as such anybody or group who wish to hold a public event of such magnitude must seek permission from the appropriate state institution before doing so.

The mayor also seized the opportunity to call on all residents to be law abiding at all times so as to ensure an enabling environment conducive for economic growth and prosperity.
