The Northern Regional Executives of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) have declared their support for Professor Edmund Nminyem Dele, National chairmanship bid.
The CPP regional executives with support from all the 31 constituency executives say professor Dele’s vast experience in Ghanaian politics will propel CPP to victory in the 2016 general elections.
The CPP executives are also counting on professor Dele’s 64 years’ experience to accomplish the unfinished business by the out-going chairperson, Samia Yaba Nkrumah.
The CPP executives made the declaration at a news conference this morning in Tamale. Education secretary of the party, Nayi Adam Alhassan who addressed the media described professor Dele as a staunch and outstanding member of the CPP.
The party executives say professor Dele’s competence and commitment during his reign as national chairman in 2003 was encouraging and this is needed in the party now. When asked if they have been coheres by the medical professor with some favors, vehemently denied it saying that as far as they are concern, it was him who shown interest.
Meanwhile, the party would go polls elect its national executives on 18 and 20 September, 2015 at Sunyani in the Brong Ahaf region. So far, about three regional executives have onpenly declared their support for the Professor Dele ahead of the its national executive elections.
