Ghana, the beacon of hope
Ghana, the blessed land
Ghana, my mother land
Ghana, one nation, one people
oh mother Ghana we have come
yet to another cross road
but like the victor or the conqueror
we are certainly certain that
we are going to sail through
92, 96, 2000, 2004, 2008 and Date
have all come with their peculiar tensions
but like a mirage or bubbles of water
have all passed peacefully
coming events they say
surely cast their shadows
we are confronted with the supreme court verdict
for a timely tested and proven
peaceful nation like ours
definitely peace is our hall mark
for what is there to rule in a bloody nation
for what is there to rule in a scattered nation
for what is there to rule in a divided nation
indeed, in unity lies our strength
my heart bleeds for the innocent ones
the women and the nursing mothers
the babies and the children
the aged and the sicklers
indeed in unity really lie our strength
fellow comrades and compatriots
Ghana is the only country we have
and will forever live in
the responsibility of every soul
to safeguard the peace of the nation.
