Aggrieved Karaga NPP Youth in vandalism spree

1

Aggrieved youth of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Karaga constituency have issued a stern warning to the party’s parliamentary candidate-elect, Basha Sharawi Yilfa not to ever step foot into the Karaga Township or face the consequences of his own actions.

This caution follows earlier attacks and vandalization of the constituency party office, several other sheds and pavilions belonging to the party.

Addressing a news conference in Karaga today, a spokesperson of the Young patriotic elephants of karaga, Alhassan Fuseini said Basha Sharawi is a complete stranger to the electorate of the party in the constituency.

He blamed the Karaga constituency Secretary, Alhassan Yahaya yabdoo and the Organizer Alhassan Yabdoo on campaigning for the parliamentary candidate-elect.

The group, numbering over 4 hundred has indicated that Basha Sharawi has never been known to have participated in any party activities of the constituency.

According to the spokesperson, “they”, the indigenes of Karaga will not allow any  ‘stranger’ to come from nowhere to thwart their hard won efforts in the constituency.

The group is therefore calling on the Regional Executives to as a matter of urgency intervene and ask Basha Sharawi the candidate-elect to step down so that they could appoint an indigene as the party’s candidate for the 2016 parliamentary elections.

The youth have also threatened to boycott the 2016 elections if their requests are not met. The spokesperson said, earlier, they had petitioned to the Regional Executives of the party in the Northern Region to disqualify Mr Sharawi because he never resided in the Karaga constituency.

However Zaa radio News’ attempts to speak to the constituency secretary and organizer has proven futile as the secretary's phone lines could not be reached, the Organizer Alhassan Yabdoo has remained lip tight on the issues.

The constituency chairman told Zaa News that the tension in the area was beyond him and wants the regional executives intervene before it degenerate into loss of lives as some of the youth are threatening mayhem.

i think peace will now prevail among the NPP constituents of Karaga. they have what they requested. Allah works in mysterious ways. politically, i think the Karaga seat will be one of the hot contested seats in the three Northern Regions. i pray a fruitful candidate wins the seat to bring the desired development the people so yearn for.
