The Assailants numbering about seven first launched the attack on Mr. Atutiga’s pig fence killing over six pigs instantly, after cutting off the electricity connections to the house before carrying out their act.
Narrating the incident to Zaa news Mr Atutiga said he was at the outskirts of the Tamale metropolis when he received distressed calls by one of his children in the house that they have been attacked.
He said the assailants interrogated his wife about his whereabouts and subjected his elder son to severe beatings for reasons best known to them.
Mr. Atituga who has been living in Tamale for over 40 years now says he has no problem in the metropolis and wonder why anybody could mete out this treatment to him and his family. ’’ It was a distress calls from my family that some have attacked my house and asked what was happening where they looking for somebody or looking for something? Mr. Atutiga ask his son.
He, however, suspects somebody he named only as Nabia; claiming to be one of the son of the late Overlord of Dagbon Ya Naa Yakubu Andani.
Our News team met some sons of the late Ya Naa at Mr. Atutiga’s residence who disputed the claim of the Nabia gentleman, but admitted that although he does sit with them, he is no relative.
Mr. Atutiga who said the late Ya Naa was his close friend, added that Nabia posed as one of Ya Naa’s sons and begged for a parcel of land in front of his residence for a backyard garden which he obliged.
He further narrated that he told Nabia that he needs to fence his garden to prevent animals from destroying it which he agreed.  He is surprised about the action of Nabia whom he claimed led his gunmen to terrorize his family.
Mr. Atutiga  who has since reported the incident to the police saying his family is living in fear and expressed the hope that the police will speed up their investigations.
