The Arewa Times News paper launched in Tamale

The Tamale Branch Manager of Stanbic Bank, Solomon Aduachie Osei has underscored the need for the people in the northern region to utilized both human and natural resources to improve on their living conditions.
He said, the caliber of people from the north who are serving the country in diverse ways, is a clear testimony that, the people in the region can leverage themselves from deprivation.
Mr Osei stated this at the official launch of the private News Paper in the northern region ‘’The Arewa Times’’ in Tamale.
He expressed the hope that, the Arewa Times, will help advocate for the development for the north. Mr Osei stressed the need for the paper to concentrate on bread and butter issues devoid of politics to ensure that the development gap between the north and south are bridged.
He also urged the people in the region to patronize the paper to sustain its publications. The Editor of the newly launched newspaper, Edmond Gyebi lamented the high poverty level in the three northern regions and assured that, the paper will be committed towards reversing the trend.
He said, though government has initiated pragmatic policies and programmes to ensure development of the area, it beholds on the people of the north to demonstrate their commitment to complement the government’s effort to pushing the development of the area forward.
The Arewa Times, according to Mr.  Gyebi, is an independent, non-partisan newspaper with a prime objective of promoting development agenda of northern Ghana.
He said, the paper hopes to achieve its objectives through highlighting both developmental challenges and investment potentials in the regions to attract the needed investors from government and other development partners.
The first copy of the paper was bought for three hundred Ghana cedis by the northern regional Minister, Moses Bukari Mabengba.
