AKUAPEMS in Tamale enstool Queen mother and Chief



The newly enstooled Queen mother of the Akuapemfo Fekuw resident in Tamale, Nana Yaa Odoosi I has called on the people of the northern region to embrace peace in this year’s general elections.

According to her, the peace of this country is paramount compared to any other issue. She made the call at the 56th Anniversary and her enstoolment as queen mother of the Akuapems in the northern region.

The occasion brought together people from different ethnic groups. In attendance were the Chief of the Gas, Fanti chiefs, Ewe Chiefs and the Queen of the Asantes.


The Akwapim Fekuw has been in existence since 1960, and was founded by the late Opayin Kwadwo Larbi.

They did not only celebrate their day but also gave recognition to some prominent individuals, who contributed to the existence of the group.

The queen mother, in her words, promised to do anything within her power to promote peace among the various ethnic groups and urged all parents to teach their children their true culture.
