The Captain of Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan has arrived on Tuesday afternoon in Tamale to join his team mates in camp for the Ghana-Togo match.
Asamoah Gyan got injured in his club, Al ain in the United Arab Emirates denying him a placein the final eleven of the crucial encounter.
His arrival at camp in Tamale puts smiles on the faces of many soccer fans who believe his presence could impact positively and also boost the moral of the players.
Speaking to journalist at the Tamale sports stadium, Asamoah said he is fit now and his presence in camp was to support the players because his medical team is still assessing his condition and he will not risk to play. He said he has confidence in his colleagues.
He believes his absences will not affect the team chances because the like of Kwadwo Asamoah will do their best to beat the Togo national team, Sparrow Hawks. The coach of the team Maxwell Konadu believes his players who are mainly young will exhibit their youthful exuberances during the match.
On the absence of Asmoah Gyan, Maxwell described his absences as a bit risk to loss him. ’’We will make sure we close our ranks to ensure the team scores a couple of goals in the first half; very very important because we don’t want the Togolse to draw any confidence’’ Maxwell told journalist after the team last training. The team he said will be confidence at the back and also make sure that they are clinical upfront because as he put it ‘in football anything can happen’.
The coach also assured Ghanaians that his players contain the captain of the Togolese national team, Emmanuel Adebayo to prevent him causing any harm to the Ghana side.
Meanwhile, the paramount chief of Tamale, Gulkpe Naa Alhaji Albdulai Alhassan has visited the black stars at the training ground. The chief was happy that all squad are on the training pitch and assure that victory was on their side.
The chief earlier on Monday promised the team after they call on him n his palace that he will visit them at the training ground.
