Dagbon Overlord Donates GHC10,000 and a Bull Towards 2024 CHASS Annual Conference in Tamale

The Overlord of Dagbon, N’Dan Yaa-Naa, has made a generous donation of GHC10,000 and a bull towards the 2024 Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS), which is scheduled to take place in Tamale. The donation was presented on his behalf by the Paramount Chief of the Sagnarigu Traditional Area, Naa Bapri Sagnari Naa, in a brief ceremony held at the Tamale Senior High School (TAMASCO) campus over the weekend.

The event saw Naa Bapri Sagnari Naa, accompanied by other dignitaries, handing over the donation to the leadership of CHASS in the Northern Region. The paramount chief emphasized the significance of the annual conference, which will be held from October 7th to 11th at the University for Development Studies (UDS), Dungu Campus. He noted that the support from the Dagbon Overlord is aimed at ensuring the success of this year’s conference and underscoring the importance of quality education in the region.

Speaking to Zaa News, the Gukpegu Sapib Naa, Fusheini, who represented the Paramount Chief, conveyed the Overlord’s commitment to education, highlighting the annual CHASS conference as a crucial event for discussing and enhancing the welfare of secondary school education in Ghana.

“The donation signifies the importance of education in Dagbon, and the Overlord is keen on supporting efforts that promote the growth and improvement of our schools.”

In response, the Chairperson of CHASS in the Northern Region, Alhassan Issah Dokurugu, who also serves as the Headmaster of the Northern School of Business (NOBISCO), expressed his gratitude for the gesture. He applauded the Overlord’s contribution and called for similar support from other stakeholders in the region to ensure the conference’s success.

“We are thrilled by the support from the Overlord of Dagbon. This contribution will go a long way in making this year’s conference a success, and we encourage all well-meaning individuals and institutions to follow suit.”

The 2024 CHASS Annual Conference will bring together Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools from across Ghana to deliberate on pressing educational issues and share ideas on how to improve the performance and administration of secondary schools. The donation from the Dagbon Overlord is seen as a boost for the event, ensuring its smooth execution.
