Authorities of the Lawra Senior High School in the upper west region have sent out an urgent call for help to accommodate students following unusual rain storm that hit the school.

The girl’s dormitory on 21st March 2022, was hit by the disaster forcing school authorities to relocate the girls to a temporary structure as the building was ripped-off destroying several properties.

The over 2,000 students population of the school currently have limited classrooms and dormitories making life difficult for students. The headmaster of the school Alhaji Seidu Tingbani in an interview with the media appealed to government, individuals and philanthropists to help the window netting of the existing dormitories to prevent mosquitoes from infecting the students with malaria.

An additional borehole he says is urgently needed to supply water to the students and staff. He says the school currently has one borehole which is woefully inadequate.
