Care and Social Development Organization Commissions Multi-Faceted Project At Gulkpegu Dungu In Sagnarigu District
A Kuwait-based charity organization, Care and Social Development Organization commissioned a multi-faceted project at Gulkpegu Dungu in the Sagnarigu District over the weekend. Speaking to Zaa News, the Country Director of Care and Social Development, Dr Mansour Abouzid said since the establishment of his outfit in 2005, the project is far the biggest among those built in Ghana.
He further added that other interventions undertaken by his organization include supporting 1000 orphans, sinking of boreholes, enrolling about 7000 children in school and fending for the destitute. Dr Mansour disclosed that a vocational center will be established to help train the youth at the facility. The commissioned project involved eight blocks comprising a twelve-unit classroom block, mosque, clinic, tailoring workshop, one hundred two-bedroom apartments for the destitute and sanitary facilities.
On his part, the Northern Regional Director of Education, Alhaji Mohammed Haroun Cambodia emphasized government’s quest for inclusive education and on behalf of the director general pledged Ghana Education Service’s readiness to partner with the organization. Alhaji Cambodia also assured the Country Director that professional teachers would be posted to the school and enough logistics be provided for it.
The Northern Regional Minister, Mr. Salifu Saeed, commended all stakeholders especially the chief of Gulkpegu Dungu and the Ghana Association for the Advancement of Muslim Youth in Education (GAAMYE) for allocation of the land. Mr Saeed promised to support the facility and urged the Sagnarigu Municipality to take vested interest in the edifice. He called on all to learn at all times as the Holy Qur’an enjoins Muslims to strive for knowledge at all cost.
The Assemblyman for the Dungu-Nyeshee-Damankungyili electoral area, Mr. Musah Soale who represented the chief and people expressed their happiness to Care and Social Development Organization. Some other dignitaries who graced the event were Naa Yab’ Gulkpenaa, Naa Yab’ Tamale Dakpema, Sagnarigu MCE, Ghana’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Dungu chief and Elders, Islamic scholars and women groups.
