All is set for the FACE OF THE NORTH beauty pageant in September. The first of its kind in the northern region, Face of the North was launched during the weekend. It is an event organised by Marisky Entertainment with the main objective giving opportunities to young ladies in northern Ghana to exhibit their skills and talents, and build up their confidence.
It is the first beauty pageant that will have participation broadly from the three northern regions namely Northern, Upper East, and Upper West regions.
Speaking at the launch the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Face of the North who doubles as the CEO of Marisky Entertainment Ms. Mariam Alhassan called on all media houses to support the agency in building its agenda by helping to create public awareness of the program.
Face of the North beauty pageant will be the first beauty pageant in the north that would be telecast live. One thing that has made it unique is that, the public will be given the opportunity to participate through SMS voting. This is meant to ensure transparency in the process of selecting a winner.
Speaking to Zaa Showbiz news the Public Relations Officer of Marisky Entertainment Ms. Rebecca Djansah noted that the event is to project the culture of northern ghana to the rest of the world, promote tourism in northern ghana and as well encourage girls from northern ghana to take education seriously. Auditions she said will be held in the three northern capitals, namely Tamale, Bolgatanga and Wa. Ms. Rebbeca appealed to the general public to contribute to the success of the initiative.
The competition is open to all fresh Senior High School (SHS) graduates from the three regions of the north. The winner goes home with a motorbike, second placed finalist walks away with cash and a mobile phone, and the third place finisher will also have as prizes cash and a mobile phone.
