Exhibitors of the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) and the Ghana Trade Fair Company have started arriving in Tamale ahead of the 20th edition of Ghana International Trade Fair due to take place from 25 February to March 7, 2016.
The Fair will, among other things, showcase a number of products, including iron ore, lime deposits and raw materials, emerging marketing potentials for manufacturing, distributors, agents, exporters and importers within the SADA ecological zone.
Over 500 exhibitors from Asia, Africa and Ghana are expected to take part in the fair. A team of South Africans are already in Tamale, ahead of time on a study tour, officials of the Ghana Trade fair Company told Zaa News.
The South Africans, according to the organizers, took the lead because of the love they developed for Tamale during the CAN 2008 football tournament. Organizers of the fair put the price per booth or stand as ten thousand Ghana cedis for exhibitors from outside SADA zone and four hundred Ghana cedis for exhibitors within the SADA zone.
Media organizations within the SADA zone will also have the opportunity to exhibit their products free to the outside world, Ghana Trade Fair Company announced.
Briefing the media at the SADA headquarters in Tamale, the liaison officer of the SADA-Ghana trade fair, Dr. Chris Anaba said the authority is playing a facilitating role.
Dr. Anaba explained that due to the large numbers expected, the two organizations are teaming up with the Northern Regional Security Committee to ensure that all expatriates conduct their business in a peaceful environment.
Field officers of SADA, according to Dr Anaba are currently putting finishing touches to a profiling document with planning officers from all the metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies in SADA zone to enable investors have an elaborate document of each district and which area they can invest in.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Trade Fair Company, Abdul Kudus Shakuru appealed to the people in the north to show keen interest in the Fair.
According to him, it is their expectation that, most companies, both international and those in Accra, will be established in the north to reduce unemployment among the youth.
