The Tamale Dakpema, Naa Alhassan Mohammed Dawuni has visited the Tamale Teaching Hospital. He called on management of the hospital to instill discipline in the staff to protect to its image which has been dented in the eyes of the public.
The Dakpema visit follows several complaints to his palace about the neglect and poor service delivery by some health workers at TTH.
Naa Alhassan Dawuni did not mince words when he told top management that the place is not for individuals to make money, adding that those engaging in it must be sanctioned.
He said: “I know you health professionals but the bad nuts among you tarnished your hard earned reputations.” Dakpema noted. “My heart bleeds when I hear some of the alleged illegal changes and neglect of patients at TTH. Your faculty is losing its respect as a teaching and referral hospital and it is an indictment of management,” the Dakpema continued.
A senior management member, Dr Mumuni on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer thanked the Dakpema for the approach he adopted after receiving several complaints from residents.
The management, Dr. Mumuni said, is trying its best to weed out the bad nuts to ensure that the TTH becomes a center of excellence.
