Kumbungu: MP Commissions six-unit classroom block in Vogu-Kushibo

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu Constituency, Dr Adam Hamza has commissioned a six-unit classroom block for the people of Vogu-Kushibo in the Kumbungu district. This was made possible with support from Wulugu project. The community has been battling with an infrastructure deficit in the face of an abandoned school building project which could cure the chronic infrastructural problem facing the community.

The structure was one of GETFUND’s project that has been abandoned for some years. Prior to this, teaching and learning was done under trees. The situation has affected academic activities in the school, with it recording low pupils’ attendance and teacher absenteeism. The school is also the only educational facility in the community.

Dr Adam Hamza says efforts made to get authorities complete the project have not been successful until the intervention of the Wulugu project. The MP also urged chiefs, teachers and stakeholders of the community to maintain and put the building into full use.

A representative of the Wulugu project on his part indicates that Vogu-Kushibo community stands the chance of getting other infrastructure if academic performance of pupils improves. He however urged parents to take the education of their wards seriously especially the female gender.

Headteacher of the school while commending the MP and Wulugu project says the new building will go a long way to enhance teaching and learning.
