Alhaji Umar Farouk Aliu Mahama, the son of the late Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama has urged the youth in the Yendi municipality to help ensure peace and harmony in the area in order to win 2020 elections for the NPP party.
According to him, peace and harmony are the only weapons that can bring progress and development to the area.
He said this when he picked nomination form to contest the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries in the Yendi constituency.
Alhaji Farouk, who expressed joy and confidence as he begun the process, said he was sure of emerging as the parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the NPP.
He said he was ready to continue the legacy left by his late father by bringing sustainable development and reducing poverty in the area.
Alhaji Farouk mentioned the financing of the renovation of the Yendi hospital mortuary, establishment and connection of most youth to be employed in different sectors among others as some of his contributions to the area, hence the need for the people to rally behind him.
He disclosed his readiness to make Yendi the most developed place in the entire Northern region.
Alhaji Farouk is expected to fill the form and return it to the party’s office for further processes towards the primaries in April.
The NPP is expected to hold its parliamentary primaries on 25th April 2020 in areas the party has sitting MPs.
Alhaji Farouk also promised to build a standard office for the party if given the opportunity.
Speaking to Zaa news NPP Secretary of Yendi Constituency Fuseini Zakaria Bawa noted, Alhaji Farouk has satisfied the first rule by paying the Two thousand Ghana cedis banker’s draft in the name of the party.
He said this amount is expected to be paid by all interested aspirants across the country.
