N/R; Pray for MTN Ghana-Chief Imam urges Muslims ahead of Eid

Northern Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Abdul Salam Ahmed has called on Muslims in the region to pray for the telecom giant, MTN Ghana for more gains in the industry. The chief Imam said, MTN Ghana has demonstrated that it’s not only profiting making entity but human centred.

Alhaji Abdul Salam who speaking after MTN northern sector team presented Eid Fidtri items to him expressed gratitude to the company for their continue support and associating its brand with them.  

The items presented included 10 Bags of Rice, 10Cartons of Vegetable Oil, Packs of Mineral Water Packs of soft drinks, a Ram and Airtime with worth GH¢ 500.

Similar donation was made to the regional Chief Imams in Takoradi, and Kumasi as well as the National Chief Imam and some Muslim families in Nima, Maamobi, Fadama, Ashaiman, Kosoa, Koforidua Zongo, Asawase, Aboabo, Sawaba, Moshie Zongo and Akwatia line.

Alhaji Abdul Salam prayed for Allah’s protection of the company and the entire workforce. He used the occasion to also called on the people in the region to continue patronizing products and services as well as have trust and believe on MTN.  

According to the chief, covid 19 pandemic brought a lot setbacks to many companies globally, MTN still follow their previous years’ work plans by sharing with individuals and groups in their operational areas.

The Northern Regions Area Sales Manager, Obed Adu-Amankwaah who led the team to the present the items extended Management and staff of MTN warmest regards to the chief Imam for the relationship they have enjoyed with the Muslim Community over the years. Mr Obed said despite all the changes covid 19 brought, Eid remains the time of giving thanks for all the blessings in our lives, focusing on the sunnah, they can fulfil and reach out to those facing greater challenges.

The support he explained, was in the spirit of Ramadan and Eidul Fitr, and in furtherance of MTN’s existing relationship with the Muslim community.

He used the occasion to encourage the Muslim community to continue to observing the COVID 19 guidelines by wearing their facemasks where necessary, hand washing and sanitizing of their hands regularly and endeavor to keep practicing social distancing. 

MTN  25th anniversary

The telecom giant set-aside US$25 million to for the celebration of its 25 years in Ghana. Mr Obed in announcing the 25th anniversary celebration told the chief Imam that the money will go into supporting the country with a legacy project and other Community intervention projects.
