Alhaji Alhassan Adam, the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Tamale Central constituency has donated ten wooden benches to the Moshie Zongo clinic to improve reproductive and child health at the clinic.
Many pregnant women who visit the facility for both pre and post antenatal services stand in long queues due to inadequate seating.
The benches are therefore expected to mitigate the sufferings of the pregnant women and improve antenatal and other critical essential health services at the Clinic. Alhaji Adam observed that there were very critical challenges of healthcare delivery in the Tamale Central constituency.
“As someone aspiring to become the member of parliament for the Tamale Central constituency, I needed to go to the grounds to abreast myself with the healthcare challenges in the constituency. This would inform me on how to spend my resources as MP on the critical health challenges in the constituency.” he noted.
Alhaji Adam said the donation of the benches was therefore a practical measure to deal with the serious challenges affecting healthcare delivery in the constituency. He also pledged to adopt the clinic and take the responsibility of dealing with its challenges immediately he became the Tamale Central MP.
“My senior brother’s and the current member of parliament for constituency, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini built this beautiful clinic with so much passion and it is only prudent for us to help maintain and provide its needs. I would therefore be adopting the clinic as my own if I am voted as the MP for Tamale Central.” Alhaji Adam said
A Midwife at the Moshie Zongo Clinic, Mrs. Augusta Dzikunu commended Alhaji Adam for his kind gesture. She said the donation will impact greatly in improving antenatal care at the clinic.
“Today, we are very happy to be here with you because what you have done for us today is really appreciable because our clients have been suffering as to where to sit when they come around. It is really a problem and we are happy that Alhaji Alhassan Adam has taken it upon himself to come and donate this benches for us for our clients to be able to have a place to sit. We appreciate it a lot.”
She appealed to Alhaji Adam to assist the clinic with a pavilion that will provide shade for the pregnant women to rest while waiting for antenatal care.
