The Northern Regional House of Chiefs has welcome the Supreme Court’s decision and urged all parties to remain peaceful and respectful after the judgement.
The house of chiefs also entreated all supporters to keep activities and exchanges civil to maintain an atmosphere of tolerance and respect and to avoid the use of tribal rhetoric.
The chairman of the Steering committee of the northern regional house of chiefs, Bupei Wura AbdulaiJinapor on behalf of the president, Yagbonwura Tuntumba Bore Essa I, made the remarks in Tamale at a press briefing shortly after the ruling in Accra this morning.
The house is also considering setting up a reconciliation committee to ensure the peaceful coexistence of both factions.
The house requested that all parties urge their supporters to be nonviolent, law abiding and coexist peacefully.
