The government has dismissed rumors making rounds that it intends scrapping off Arabic instructors from the Ghana Education Service. Government has therefore described the rumors as propaganda by some people who are peddling the rumor around for their parochial interest and urged all Arabic instructors to ignore it.
The rumor and a supposed letter started in circulation among Instructors in the Savelugu/Nanton municipality and some part of northern region suggesting that government is in a process of scrapping off Arabic instructors from GES.
This created a panic and confusion among Arabic instructors who accused government of being cruel judging their contributions to circular education in Ghana.
But speaking exclusively with Zaa News, Municipal Chief Executive for Savelugu/Nanton Abdulai Alhassan Red said government will not and has no intension of taking steps to punish the Arabic instructors unjustifiably. He explained that the one month salary issued of the instructors was not peculiar to them but by many public sector works.
According to him, there is ongoing biometric registration exercise embarked by government in all sectors and that cannot be misconstrued to mean scraping or punishing some section of Ghanaian workers.
