The member parliament for Kumbungu constituency, Amadu Moses Yahaya has donated a mini Nissan Van ambulance worth 15 thousand Ghana cedis to the constituency.
The multipurpose van is meant for conveying dead people either from their homes or hospitals to the cemetery. The Van, the MP explain will be station in Dalun while serving the rest of the communities in the constituency.
This is the second time in less than two years in parliament Amadu Moses Yahaya had made effort to ease transportation problems confronting institutions and the people in the constituency.
Last year, the MP asked the health directorate in Kumbungu to use his personal vehicle for their operations when he realized that the directorate was facing transportation problems.
The only Convention People’s Party (CPP) Member of Parliament made the presentation at Dalun in response to an appeal made by the people of Dalun. The community until Thursday was using tricycles, tracks and motorbikes to carry dead persons to the cemetery.
After years of struggling to pay dignified last respect to their loved ones, the people started contributing to buy a dedicated tricycle for conveying dead bodies.
The Fridays’ contribution of Dalun and its environs was woefully inadequate to purchase a brand new tricycle whose current market price stands at over two thousand Ghana cedis. However, the contribution amounted to one thousand seven hundred thousand Ghana cedis.
