A middle-age man has been found dead in uncompleted building in Gariche fong electoral area in the Gushegu district of the northern region. The man believed to be in his 40s was alleged to have committed suicide in the early hours on Tuesday.
It is not clear what led to the death of the man yet to be identified. Speaking to Zaa News, the assembly man for Garicha fong electoral area Musah Tahiru said the body was found hanging at about 9: am today in uncompleted building opposite the Gushegu hospital.
When asked if the man left written notes behind before hanging himself, Mr Tahiru said there is none. The police in the district, he added, have made several efforts through his mobile phone but are yet to get a relative.
According to him, the police are considering getting in touch with the telecommunication network the deceased was using in order to identify his residence. His body is still in the morgue of the Gushegu Hospital pending further investigation.
In a related development, a nursing mother was found dead in the drain behind the Gariba Lodge Hotel in the Sagnarigu district of the Tamale North constituency.
The woman only identified as Jemila was found by some residents in the area. Husband of the decease Afa Ilyasu on Monday reported the late Madam Jamila’s missing. According to him she (Jamila) left their house without her two weeks old baby.
The late Jamila the husband explained left the house on Saturday at about 8pm and never returned. The circumstances surrounding her death is not readily known.
A close friend of the deceased’s husband told Zaa News that the late Jamila was in good condition on the naming ceremony day which took place last Thursday. She has since been buried.
