The Savelugu/Nanton Municipality assembly has announced that it will take drastic actions against anyone whose actions or inactions will contribute to the falling standard of education in the area.
The assembly said it is committed to improving the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) performance in the area after it scored last out of 26 MMDAs in the northern region in 2013 BECE national league table.
The 2013 dwelling performance in BECE according to the assembly adds to a decade trend in the Savelugu/Nanton municipality.
To improve and save the municipality from the situation, teachers who are not ready to stay in savelugu have two options; either go to school early as expected or goodbye the municipality.
Speaking in an interview with Zaa News, municipal chief executive for the Savelugu, Abdulai Alhassan Red said, the area has every educational infrastructure capable enough not to allow it record negative results. He has therefore started visitation of schools to ascertain the cause of the falling standard of education.
