Twelve (12) people are responding to treatment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) after their vehicle with registration number AS 9192 G was involved in an accident on Tamale-Kumasi road at about 8 pm on Thursday.
The accident occurred few meters away from Damongo junction in the Central Gonja district of the northern region.
The victims mainly butchers from Kpatinga in the Gushegu district were travelling with animals to Accra. Some of the victims had their legs chopped-off with others sustaining serious head injury.
The only victim with minor injury was the driver. Nurses at the emergency ward told Zaa News that some of the victims are in critical condition.
Narrating the incident to Zaa News, one of the victims Abdul Samed Mubarik said an articulated track from opposite direction with highlights on and in an attempt by their driver to dodge the big track, their vehicle veered off the road.
