Organizers of the ongoing International Trade Fair in Tamale are urging people in the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) zone especially business oriented people to take the opportunity ad visit the Fair.
The Fair which started on 25 February enters its second week and has over six hundred exhibitors both local and international displaying their wares and services at the Tamale sports stadium.
The president, John Dramani Mahama according to the organizers will tour exhibitors’ stands and also participate in what the organizers term the fugu or smock show on Friday, 4 March 2016.
Participants at a business seminar on Thursday were taken through the risks involved in doing business and the need to invest in the agricultural sector as well as insuring their farms.
The business seminar which was organised by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) brought together officials from the agric-business unit of Stanbic bank, Ghana Agriculture Insurances Poll and Exim Guarantee among others to explain the nuances in the sector.
A board member of SADA, Dr. Grace Bediako who chaired the second session of the business seminar said Ghana’s agricultural sector is becoming increasingly risky for farmers and stakeholders in the sector. Dr. Bediako mentioned price stabilization of farm products, production and climate change as pressing issues. According to the former government statistician, the country needs to finance agriculture seriously, especially in the SADA ecological zone.
Event organizer of the 20th edition of the Fair, Dr Chrsy Anab who spoke to Zaa News mentioned the promotion of smock, the profiling of districts within SADA zone on Saturday and a great concert on Sunday as the activities climaxing the first ever Ghana International Trade Fair in Tamale.
