A Kuwait-Based nongovernmental organization, Care and Social Development (CSD) in Ghana has commenced the construction of over hundred houses orphanage facility at the Gulkpegu-Dungu in the Sagnarigu district of the northern region.
The facility when completed will have a clinic, mosque, sports complex, basic school from kindergarten to junior high school and an orphanage home.
The facility which is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year will provide both humanitarian services and quality education to pupils at Gulkpegu-Dungu and its surrounding communities.
Speaking at the official sod-cutting ceremony, the Acting Principal of the Technical University College of Tamale, Dr Osman Alhassan said the the project was an initiative by the late Chairman of Ghana Developing Communities Association (GDCA), Gushei-Na Professor Abubakari Al-Hassan.
Dr Alhassan expressed his gratitude to the Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya-Na, the Gulkpe-Na for given out that vast land free for the construction of a facility that would mold the future leaders of Ghana.
He also commended the chief of Gulkpegu-Dungu and community members exhibiting serious interest in the project and hope that, the community will see the project as theirs when it is completed.
The leader of the donors from Kuwait, Sheik Hamed Hajiri prayed for Allah’s guidance and protection of the facility.
Sheik Hajiri reiterated CSD commitment of helping the needy to the best of their capacity.
Project Engineer, Mr Mohamad Ahmed told Zaa News that the Dungu project adds to several in the Ghana the organization has been providing as part of their philanthropist and humanitarian work. He was optimistic that the project will be completed on time and ready for use.
