The Chief of Pishigu, Naa Alhassan Andani has made a passionate appeal to parents and teachers of Pishigu to endeavor to help school going age children in the area.
Pishigu Lana told parents and teachers of Pishigu D/A primary school at his palace that posterity will not forgive the current generation, especially those at the helm of affairs if they fail to ensure that children receive the best education for their future.
The Pishigu Lana who is the Managing Director of Stanbic Bank in Ghana reminded parents in the Pishigu traditional area that he did not find education easy during his childhood because at that time the teachers hailed from the south with very few educated people in the north but they were able to cope with the situation.
The Pishigu Lana made the appeal after he presented 70 double desks to the Pishigu D/A Primary School at his palace.
The furniture is to facilitate the learning of pupils who use benches as well those who sit on the floor during lessons.
He pleaded with head teachers in the area to do their best to help the children in the area.
Senior prefect of Pishigu D/A primary during interactions with Naa Alhassan Andani corroborated with the head teacher and told the chief that they are worried about the lack of English reading books.
The chief assured both teachers and the pupils of his readiness to provide their needs. He urged them to make good use of what they have now while he works on their request.
Head teacher of the D/A primary school Zakaria Issah told the Pishigu Lana that the major problems facing teaching and learning are inadequate teachers, lack of furniture and English reading books.
The head teacher thanked the chief for his support and assures him of the teacher’s commitment to help the pupils.
Residents grateful
The residents commended the paramount chief of the area, Naa Alhassan Andani for his development initiatives. The residents who couldn’t hide their joy told Zaa News that their Chief was a God sent to them.
According to them, even though there have been chiefs before Mr Andani was enskinned, his concern for the welfare of the people was overwhelming and prayed for long life and good health for him.
They assured him that they will do all what they can to transform Pishigu to the admiration of visitors. They spoke to Zaa news after paying homage to the chief on Monday. The chief of staff (Wulana) Abukari Mahama urged his colleague sub chiefs to have an open mind and contribute their quota to complement both the government and the chief’s effort.
Assembly Man for Pishigu electoral area said the support of the chief will go a long way to help the government to improve the well-being of the people.
He assured the chief that the Sanitation equipment will be distributed to the eight areas within his electoral area and a day will set for periodic clean up exercise.
