A total of 37 healthcare service providers, including nurses and doctors at the Tamale Teaching Hospital who have come into contact with the foreigners who tested positive for COVID 19 from Tamale have been quarantine.
Out of the 37 staff members, samples of 35 of them have been taken and sent for testing pending results. Steps have also been taken to ensure that samples of the remaining 2 are taken for testing as they are in self isolation, according to management of the hospital.
Ten cases of covid-19 were confirmed in tamale on 29th march, 2020. Among the ten cases, were a couple who were being managed in TTH between medicine and dialysis.
Meanwhile, one of the confirmed cases; the foreigners, has escaped from the center where they are being kept and the public is advise to take note and observe proper social distancing since they cannot tell the status of the person next to them.
The escapee, a woman is said to have jump over a wall at a center where they have been quarantine. Also in quarantine are security officials who arrested these foreigners who have been confirmed positive of COVID 19.
