Executive Chef Faila Abdul Razak and team have begun a thank-you tour in Tamale to show appreciation to Tamale traders for the overwhelming support they gave her during her COOK-A-THON attempt at the Modern City Hotel.

Her thank-you tour took her to the Tamale central business district, Tamale Central Market and Aboabo Market, where she showed gratitude to the traders there for the massive support during the attempt. Chef Faila has in recent times been paying courtesy calls on Ghanaians across the country, thanking them for the support they extended to her and her team during her 10-day-long cooking marathon in Tamale.

Speaking to Zaa News, Chef Faila expressed deep gratitude to the Yaa-Naa, the King of Dagbon, and all paramount chiefs and sub-chiefs in the northern region, neighboring cities, towns, and beyond for their presence, gifts, food, financial assistance, and energy.

“Today, I went with my team to Tamale main market, Aboabo, and its environs to say thank you to our mothers, aunties, sisters, our fathers, and all our loved ones who came for us in the cooking marathon that was held in the Modern City Hotel from January 1 to January 10, 2023. I wouldn’t have gone through it without their support and love. They helped and supported me with their presence, gifts, foodstuffs, financial support, their energy, and their presence, and I am deeply grateful. I am so grateful for their love and support.” With happiness, Chef Faila stated.

When the Zaa News Reporter questioned the team, why they abandoned the media in the north and rather opted to use the media in Accra, the team leader, Naa Damba refuted the assertion and indicated that Chef Faila and her team did not take their thank-you tour to the national capital. He said the team started the tour from King of Dagbon in Yendi by first paying courtesy call on the Gbewaa Palace. He explained that the team was notified to be at the presidency at 2:00 p.m. on that very day, and they quickly arranged and booked a flight to be in Accra, preventing us from returning to continue their tour in the region.

According to him, they thus took advantage of the opportunity in Accra to thank everyone who attended and showed their love, including their partners. He said this was also used to strengthen affirmative relationships with their business partners and associates in order to keep up a working relationship with them. “We have been hearing from different sources, from different angles, that Chef Faila and her team took their thank-you tour to the national capital to start from there, and that is not what happened. In fact, we started with the Overload of Dagbon; we went to Yendi first to show our appreciation, and then what happened was that we went to Accra. We got a call at 11:00 a.m. that we were supposed to be at the presidency at 2:00 p.m. We quickly had to arrange and then get a flight. We even got there around 3:00 p.m., and the meeting came around 5:00 p.m., and for that matter, we could not have been able to come and go back and say thank you.” Naa Damba elaborated.
