The Tamale South Constituency Executives of the NDC have given the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed and the Mayor of Tamale, Musah Superior a forty eight hour ultimatum to find the Guinean woman who escaped quarantine in Tamale.

According to the communications officer for the Tamale South Constituency, Abdul Ganiu Sandow, not knowing the whereabout of the lady puts every individual in Tamale and the Northern Region’s life at risk.

A Guinean woman who tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday jumped the wall of her quarantine facility in Ghana and absconded, according to the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed.

The woman was part of a group of 10 Guineans who tested positive for the virus. The patients were all being quarantined at a guest house in Tamale, in the Northern part of Ghana while awaiting deportation for treatment in their own countries.

Many residents have expressed worry over the development, arguing that the said lady could spread the virus to many people. However, the Chairman for RECSEC, Salifu Saeed tells the media it’s not advisable yet to put her pictures in the public domain since angry youth plans to lynch her upon setting their eyes on her.

It’s been some days since she escaped but the police says they’ve stepped up measures in search of the Guinean lady for treatment and a possible repatriation

Currently, the number of regions with reported cases in Ghana is six – Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Northern, Upper East, and Upper West.
