The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) in the northern region has presented cheques to four members of the association who have taken ill. The four received cheques of 20, 000, 50,000, 30, 000 and 5, 000 respectively. Speaking to the media, Regional Secretary of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association Dassah Gorge says the presentation is part of the cooperate social responsibility of the association. He encourages other nurses and midwives to join the association to enjoy such benefits.
‘’ Today what we witness was just a check presentation to our members who in one way or the other has taken ill. The first one we witness at TTH, Mrs Agaata Atia is currently battling with instate kidney diseases and as an association we have always placed ourselves and place the welfare of our members at heart, so we say whatever affects one affects all of us. So as we all witness, we made a presentation of GHC20,000 to Mrs Agaata of east Gonja district. Then we moved to Tamale Central where we equally made a presentation of GHC 5,000 to a member to help her come out of another ailment.’’
He continued, ‘’we moved to Tolon district where we met Mrs Atiga who is currently battling breast cancer, she received GHC50,000 and our president Mrs Perpertual Ofori Ampafo sends her regards to all those who are sick. She also assured them of the association’s willingness to continue to support them anytime they are sick’’, he added.
‘’We have always encouraged the nurses and midwives in Ghana that (GRNM) is the best association for them, because we have come very far and we have strategies, and we have put in place all measures that will ensure that whatever contributions they make every month is well secured and put to judicious use so that when such times come that you are in need or a member is in need, we will come out to reduce their burden’’, Mr Dassah further stated.
The beneficiary patients who were happy about the gesture commended the association for the support. They say it will go a long way to aid their treatment.
‘’Thank you for contributing everything together to put this smile on my face. appreciation goes to the “dialysis” unity, nurses, doctors I thank you so much you have been wonderful. They are very wonderful nurses and doctors here in charge. My God bless you people, and to our president and the rest of the members I say thank you to everybody. My regards to her, I say God will bless her at least you have put some smiles on my face once again’’, one of the patients prayed.
Another beneficiary says; ‘’I am overwhelmed, actually I lest expected this from the association I want to say a very big thank you to the president and the association executives and to my chairman for Tolon district. I want to say a very big thank you, and I will say you should continue to pray for me even with the support I still need your prayers.
