Kpantiga health center turns refugee camp after 2 days of gun battle
Women and children at Kpatinga in the Gushegu Municipality of the Northern Region have resort to seeking shelter at community health center.
The health personnel at the center feared the facility may also be attack if security is not beef up.
Farm produce and several houses have been torched. One person have been confirmed dead with several sustaining varied degree of injuries.
Police and military are in the area but the chieftaincy related conflict is still raising its ugly head.
A reinforcement of military from Tamale are to be dispatch to the area on Sunday.
On Saturday, Northern Regional Security Council (REGSEC) visited the area and met the two sides.
However, on Sunday there was another sporadic gun shorts in the community.
Chairman of the REGSEC, Mr Salifu Saeed called on both sides to let peace prevail.
He reminded the that the disturbances there has the potential of drawing back.
