The Member of Parliament for Kumbungu Mohammed Mubarak has expressed shocked at the level of destruction by this year’s flood in his Constituency.
Ras Mubarak as his affectionately called described the situation as calamity and monumental.
Mr Mubarak stated when he presented provided relief items to the victims at Nawuni.
The items included 10 bags of maize, 5 bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, mosquito nets, blankets and a cash of GHC 2,000 as token for temporary measure.
He also presented 5,000 cash temporary donation from the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the victims.
The Kumbungu MP told Zaa News at Nawuni that through his appeals, the Embassy of the people republic of South Korea and the Embassy to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia have made commitment to support to his people.
The Kumbungu legislature who toured the affected area and the intake plant of the Ghana water company said he appealed to StanbicBanGhana for makeshift facilities for the victims.
The level of destruction Mr Mubarak observed has exposed children and women to the harsh weather conditions and snake bites.
He was happy that they were quick responses from the cooperate Ghana to support the victims.
The floods, Mr Mubarak noted was a disaster in a biblical proportions because never in the history of Nawuni and Afa Yili and surrounding areas have we seen the water at this level.
