A political group calling itself ‘Royal Ladies’ of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the northern regional capital, Tamale has commended John Dramani Mahama for nominating Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agymang as the running mate of the party.
According to the group, the nomination of Prof. Jane Naana is a good omen for the NDC, an indication of a forward match into victory come December 2020.
As a women’s group they see her nomination as a victory for all women and called for the support of individuals who have a shared interest in women empowerment and the participation of women in governance.
The NDC the group noted believes in the capabilities of Ghanaian women and the principles of inclusive governance at all levels. It has, however, advised Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agymang to concentrate on the goal of the party and ignore the insults and attempts to divert her attention from using her experience and competences to support the party win power in the December elections.
At a press conference held in Tamale the group also expressed its commitment to mobilizing women, both young and old to take part in all electoral processes that will bring the NDC back to power.
