1

A Ghanaian based in the United State of America (USA) Dr Sa-ad Iddrisu has donated one thousand pieces of nose masks to the northern regional office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The donation is part of his social responsibility to help in the fight of covid-19. Presenting the items on behalf of Dr Sa-ad, a nurse at the Tamale Teaching hospital (TTH) Ramatu Abdulai said the gesture is to encourage the wearing of nose masks to limit the spread of the virus and not for fashion.

“We’re not giving out the nose masks for fashion but we’re giving them out to fight this canker and also to encourage people to wear them”, she said.

She encouraged the general public to cultivate the habit of wearing a face mask and also practice safety protocols.

“We’re encouraging everybody to use the face mask and then practice other safety protocols”, madam Ramatu noted.

According to her, covid-19 is real and has no respect for any individual hence the need to take the virus seriously.

“Covid-19 is real so let’s take it seriously, you have seen articles saying health workers have been infected, so help us to help you” she said.

She has however called for further sensitization among citizens. People she indicates must know the dangers associated with the virus, thus the need for people to wear a mask when stepping outside their homes.
