The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Northern Development Authority (NDA) Dr Alhassan Sulemana Anamzooya, has been relieved of his position. It is unclear what may have led to his dismissal but insiders information attributed it to the perceived animosity between him and the board Chairman Dr Hakeem Waimah and some of Dr Anamzoya’s subordinates.
The NDA CEO is said to have been sacked by the appointing authority about a week ago. There has been allegations and denial since last at NDA over some kick-backs of contracts the authority has engaged in.
last year, some known governing NPP foot soldiers stormed the offices of NDA at the pensions tower over alleged over 1million cedis board meeting. The angry youth leveled several allegations against the management and warned the CEO not to sign for such an amount for the said board meeting. The CEO later dismissed the allegations.
Dr Anamzooya who was appointed as CEO in 2019 will be the second NDA CEO to have be fired after Dr Alhaji Abdul-Majeed Haroun over the circumstances that led to the missing tricycles motor bikes.
