We do not have the corona virus, foreigners under quarantine in Tamale alleged

Foreign nationals who have been tested positive of COVID 19 and quarantined in Tamale are threatening to leave the guest house where they are quarantined. They claim they do not have the virus as speculated and that they have been kept there because of the financial benefits the region get.

As at the time Zaa news team got to the facility, the foreigners had packed their luggage and threatening to leave the facility. Joint police and military has since been deployed to take guard of the facility to prevent them from leaving.

It would be recalled that, one of the Guineans under quarantined had escaped and is yet to be found.

Meanwhile before the action by the foreigners, there were earlier rumours in Tamale that they do not have the virus and that authorities were benefiting from their stay. The Northern regional minister, salifu Saeed had condemn those rumours and warned “romour mongers” of a possible arrest if they do not stop.  

However, authorities are yet to officially deny or confirm the allegations by the foreign nationals.

Eight Guineans and two Burkinabes on March 29 were confirmed to have tested positive of COVID 19 and have been kept under quarantine at a Guest house in Tamale. One of them (a lady) scale a wall and escaped. She is yet to be found.

    If they were tested positive then where they are living now is an isolation center.
    Where they were living before their test results came was then termed as quarantine center or place. So take note of the difference
