6 1V-1D completed in West Mamprusi-MCE

Six out of 10 government ‘one village one dam’ projects in the West Mamprusi municipality of the north eastern region have been completed, the Municipal Chief Executive, Abu Mohammed has stated.

The remaining four, the MCE said, are at various stages of completion.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Zaa news, the MCE said the area has received a bit of its share of the national cake and the people in the area only need to exercise patience, while the government takes steps to tackle other needs.

This comes in the wake of  several complains from communities, especially from the Upper East and Upper West regions about poor execution of the project.

Dissatisfied residents have been sharing shoddy work pictures of the government dams estimated at 240,000 Ghana cedis.

Seven basic schools, which were in a bad state for over five years, the MCE said, have been re-roofed since he assumed office in June 2017.

The only challenge confronting the schools, he admitted, is inadequate furniture.
The Walewale MCE said even though the Vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the Member of Parliament for Walewale constituency Dr Sagre Bambange have provided furniture, the schools still need more.

He therefore appealed to individuals, philanthropists to help with furniture.
On roads, MCE said the municipality has witnessed massive improvement in the road sector. He mentioned Nasia-Janga road, and Walewale and Wungu roads among many, which are in the process of being tarred.
