Police in the Northern Region are investigating circumstances that led to the collapse of a manhole at the Ghana Senior High School (GHANASCO) in Tamale.
One person the police said was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Tamale teaching hospital.
Two persons last Monday were contracted by the headmistress of the GHANASCO to construct KVIP and in the process of digging the manhole, it collapsed on the two.
Both were rescued but one lost his life upon arrival of the hospital. Speaking to Zaa News, police northern regional public relations officer ASP Ebenezer Tetteh said, the police have commenced investigation into the matter.
ASP Tetteh said, they want to establish if there was negligence on the part of anybody.
