The Anbariya Sunni Community in the Northern Region has donated hundred bags of cement to the northern regional police command for the rehabilitation and construction of fence wall around the barracks in Tamale.

The donation was in response to an appeal made by the police command to institutions and cooperate organizations in the region.

The assistance from the public, the police explained, will not only prevent people from encroaching on their land but will also refurbish some of their buildings.

The police’s appeal follows several efforts to stop people from encroaching on their land and also to prevent animals from invading their premises.

Anbariya Sunni community is the first community to have responded positively to their appeals after several promises made by some organizations and institutions.

The four-member advisory committee delegation was led by the second in command of the Anbariya Sunni community, Sheik Abubakari Tanko Issahak. Sheikh Abdul-Samie Issah Iddris, Secretary to the head and leader of Anbariya Sunni community on behalf of Sheik Saeed Abubakari Zakaria said as a religious organization, they owe it as a duty to help in contributing to the national cause.

The Northern Regional Commander of Ghana Police Service DCOP, Ken Yeboah thanked Anbariya for being the first institution to come to their aid and expressed the hope more institutions will emulate Anbariya’s gesture.
