The middle aged man who was shot dead at Baglahi in the Wamali electoral area has been identified as Ikleelu Abdulai Mohammed.
The deceased was a trained teacher who was teaching at Zabzugu Kalegu primary school. Friends of the late Ikleelu told Zaa News that, he came to a wedding in Tamale and was returning to Zabzugu when he met his untimely death.
Close relations say the deceased was the only son of her mother. The late Ikleelu was shot on his chest and ribs killing him instantly.
The suspected armed robbers took away all his belongings including the motor bike he was riding. His body was full of bloody bruises.
The only items left with him were an empty gallon and black crush helmet. Our source at the family house says, the father of the deceased nearly collapsed when he heard the news of his son. He will be buried in accordance with Islamic region on Friday, February 7, 2014 due to the delay releasing the body by the hospital authorities. The late Ikleelu left behind a wife and a daughter.
Meanwhile, an opinion leader in the Tamale metropolis Alhaji Abdulai Yahaya popularly called Abdulai Chairman has called on the citizenry to support the security agencies to deal with the criminals in Tamale.
Alhaji Abdulai Chairman said it is unfortunate that community members are not ready to assist the police in fishing out criminals in the society. He also warned the public about the dire consequences for their lukewarm attitudes in exposing criminals in the society.
He said, this can trigger the agencies to take actions that will not inure the benefit of anyone. Alhaji Abdulai Yahaya was speaking to Zaa News on the increasing incident of crime rate in the Tamale metropolis in recent times.
