Nasia rainstorms victims’ plight deepens

0

The woes of over one hundred people displaced by a rainstorm in  Nasia community in Walewale constituency of West Mamprusi district of the northern region is worsening as the rains continue to rear its ugly head in the area in less than two weeks.

Victims who are yet to get relief items were hit by another rainstorm  last Friday and ripped off several houses and stalls.

Victims scavenging for destroyed zincs and lost items have to abandon their plans of reconstruction because their efforts were thwarted by the rainstorm.

As schools resume Tuesday, pupils of Nasia D/A primary school will have to sit under trees because their school which was ripped off completely is still not attended to by either, NADMO, Ghana Education Service or the west Mamprusi district assembly.

The Member of Parliament for Walewale, Dr Sugri Bambangi who toured the affected community has secured 20 packets of roofing sheets for the 78 houses ripped off.

Speaking to Zaa News, the assemblyman for Nasia electoral area Salifu Alhassan Adam said another storm hit the community and residents are yet to come to terms on the natural disaster.
