NDC vows to recapture Tolon seat from NPP

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has step up  efforts to recapture the Tolon seat it lost IN 2012 to the opposition New Patriotic Party ( NPP).

The party has set up a group called working Committee in the Tolon Constituency. The committee’s aim among others is to recapture the Tolon seat which was snatched from the NDC Member of Parliament Abdul-Razaq, A. Umar in the 2012 general elections to the NPP Wahab Suhiyini Wumbei.

The working committee will also intensify its efforts to address all concerns among the constituency executives of NDC and other party faithfuls.

Addressing the youth in Tolon, the Tolon constituency chairman of the NDC Mohammed Adam urged the delegates to desist from openly supporting parliamentary aspirants and remain neutral.

 He told party supporters that, their efforts should be geared towards recapturing the seat in the 2016 general elections and that any internal wrangling could affect the party’s fortunes.

The Tolon constituency youth organizer Baba Abdul-Rahman charged the committee members to work hard to enable NDC win the Tolon seat. He entreated constituency executives to rally behind anyone who emerges winner during the party’s parliamentary primaries.

The District Chief Executive for Tolon, Alhaji Abukari Seidu said president Mahama-led administration’s developmental project is enough evidence for the people to give their mandate to the NDC.

He mentioned the tarring of Nyakpala-Tolon road and its extension to Tale, upgrading of Tolon senior high school from day to boarding, constructions of 3 classroom blocks in about 7 communities and renovation of Nyankpala clinic among others.

The Northern Regional Youth Organizer of NDC, Alhaji Mohammed Amin Abio tasked the committee to go extra mile in snatching the Tolon seat. According to him, the Tolon seat should not be allow to be the  preserve of the NPP.
