The Member of Parliament (MP) for Salaga north constituency, Honorable Alhassan Mumuni has donated a double-decker Nissan pick-up to the Kpalbe health centre.
The Nissan, worth 250,000 Ghanaian cedis, is to serve the clinic in terms of emergencies or referral cases.
It is the only health facility serving forty-three communities in Salaga north constituency.
The donation forms part of activities to mark the National Sanitation Day exercise held on February 7. Honorable Mumuni presented the vehicle to the district chief executive (DCE) for Salaga, Mohammed Aminu Lukumanu, who received it on behalf of the Kpalbewura.
The DCE for Salaga, Mohammed Aminu Lukumanu thanked the MP for his tremendous contribution to the socio-economic development of Salaga North constituency and pledged that the vehicle will be used for the intended purpose.
The sub-district midwife in charge of the Kpalbe clinic, Nihad Mensah on behalf of the district health director expressed gratitude to the MP.
Madam Mensah said the problem of carrying patients using tricycles now belongs to memory and promised that the pick-up would be put into good use.
Present at the preliminary clean-up exercise in Kpalbe was the deputy minister for local government and rural development, Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum.
It was, indeed, well patronized by the chiefs and people of kpalbe with schoolchildren being on the front line. The community, therefore, was swept neatly and the waste properly disposed off.
The kpalbewura, Mahama Seidu commended the MP and his team for the timely intervention to arrest sanitation challenges at the hub of the Salaga North constituency.
