The King of Dagbon, Ya Naa Abukari II has directed chiefs in the kingdom to made available lands for agricultural purposes.
The overlord’s directive is in line with his pledge to mobilize the people of Dagbon as part of his development agenda to increase access to farm inputs and service to small holder farmers during his investiture.
The Dagbon King was the guest of honor at the opening of Agricultural Industrialization Conference in Tamale.
The conference organized by Torchbearer International Agricultural Investment and Management (TIAST Group), a Chinese agricultural technology giant was on the theme; Financial and Technology Boost got Agricultural processing.
TIAST in September this year signed a strategic cooperation Memorandum of understanding with Stanbic Bank, which will lead to the provision of 2 to 5 years of equipment finance lease service.
The Ya Naa whose message was delivered by the Nanton-Naa Mahamadu Bawa IV commended the stanbic bank and TIAST for helping him to realized one of the most important dreams in industrializing agriculture sector, especially in the cassava value chain.
The Ya Naa believes TIAST group intervention will go a long way to address the start-up capital challenge facing farmers.
